SPARKLING WINE LABELS

As in many countries, Georgian laws prohibit using the name 'Champagne' on sparkling wine labels, even if they are made according to the classic champagnization method. Instead, the terms 'Sparkling Wine' or 'Fizzy Wine' are used.

The most popular sorts of grapes used in Georgian sparkling wines are Tsitska and Tsolikauri. The labels are usually bilingual — Georgian and English.
